    This Caprese Pasta Salad with Crispy Prosciutto is a fresh and savory twist on the classic caprese salad. Tender pasta is tossed with juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fresh basil, and topped with crispy prosciutto for the perfect balance of salty crunch and Italian flavor.

    A savory, elevated twist on classic caprese pasta salad featuring crispy prosciutto, juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fresh basil tossed with a balsamic dressing.

    Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

    • 12 oz pasta (rotini, bowties, or penne)
    • 4 oz prosciutto slices
    • 1½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
    • 8 oz fresh mozzarella pearls
    • ¼ cup fresh basil, torn

    Dressing

    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 1½ tbsp balsamic vinegar
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

    Optional Finish

    • Balsamic glaze
    • Fresh Parmesan
    • Cracked black pepper

    Instructions

    1. Cook pasta
      Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and rinse under cool water.
    2. Crisp the prosciutto
      Place prosciutto slices in a skillet over medium heat or bake at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes until crisp. Cool slightly, then crumble.
    3. Make dressing
      Whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper.
    4. Assemble salad
      Toss pasta, tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil together.
    5. Finish & serve
      Add dressing and top with crispy prosciutto. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.

    Flavor Tips

    • Add prosciutto just before serving to keep it crisp.
    • Use burrata instead of mozzarella for extra richness.
    • A little lemon zest brightens the whole dish.

    Delicious Variations

    Pesto Caprese Prosciutto

    Toss with a few tablespoons of basil pesto.
