    Creamy Caprese Pasta Salad

    This Creamy Caprese Pasta Salad is rich, fresh, and incredibly easy to make! Tender pasta is tossed with juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fresh basil, and a smooth creamy balsamic dressing for the ultimate summer side dish.

    A creamy, tangy twist on classic caprese pasta salad with juicy tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and a luscious dressing that’s perfect for cookouts, lunches, or meal prep.

    Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

    • 12 oz pasta (rotini, penne, or bowties)
    • 1½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
    • 8 oz fresh mozzarella pearls
    • ¼ cup fresh basil, torn

    Creamy Dressing

    • ½ cup mayonnaise
    • ¼ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
    • 2 tbsp pesto or 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

    Optional Add-Ins

    • Grilled chicken
    • Avocado
    • Spinach
    • Parmesan cheese
    • Sun-dried tomatoes
    • Balsamic glaze drizzle

    Instructions

    1. Cook pasta
      Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and rinse under cool water.
    2. Make dressing
      Whisk together mayo, Greek yogurt, pesto (or balsamic), olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
    3. Assemble salad
      Combine pasta, tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil in a large bowl.
    4. Toss & chill
      Add dressing and toss until coated. Chill 20–30 minutes before serving.
    5. Finish
      Drizzle with balsamic glaze or extra pesto for extra flavor.

    Flavor Variations

    Pesto Creamy Caprese

    Use basil pesto in the dressing for a richer herb flavor.

    Balsamic Creamy Caprese

    Skip pesto and use balsamic vinegar + glaze for tangy sweetness.

    Protein-Packed

    Add grilled chicken or chickpeas.
