Ingredients

  1. Brownie Layer
  2. ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  3. 1 cup granulated sugar
  4. 2 large eggs
  5. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  6. ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  7. ½ cup all-purpose flour
  8. ¼ tsp salt
  9. Tiramisu Cream Layer
  10. 1 cup mascarpone cheese (or cream cheese, softened)
  11. ½ cup heavy cream, whipped
  12. ⅓ cup powdered sugar
  13. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  14. 1–2 tsp instant espresso powder (dissolved in 1 tbsp warm water)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined.
  4. Pour batter into pan and bake for 20–25 minutes. Let cool completely.
  5. Beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla, and espresso mixture until smooth.
  6. Gently fold in whipped cream.
  7. Spread tiramisu cream over cooled brownies.
  8. Chill for at least 1 hour, then dust with cocoa powder before slicing.
