Ingredients

  1. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 3/4 cup sugar
  3. 2 tsp baking powder
  4. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice)
  7. 1/3 cup melted butter or oil
  8. 2 large eggs
  9. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  10. 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  11. 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tray.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients; do not overmix.
  5. Fold in blueberries and chocolate chips.
  6. Divide batter into muffin cups.
  7. Bake 18–20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  8. Cool 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Coat blueberries in 1 tbsp flour to prevent sinking.

Use mini chocolate chips for better distribution.

Replace half the blueberries with raspberries for variation.
