Ingredients
- 2–4 medium sweet potatoes
- Olive oil (optional)
- Salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and scrub sweet potatoes; pat dry.
- Pierce each potato 3–4 times with a fork.
- (Optional) Rub lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
- Place directly on the oven rack or on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 45–60 minutes, until very tender when pierced.
- Remove from oven, rest 5 minutes, split open, and serve.
Notes
- Baking directly on the rack gives the best skin texture.
- For softer skins, wrap in foil before baking.
- Larger potatoes may need extra time.
- Reheat leftovers at 350°F (175°C) for 10–15 minutes.
