Ingredients
- 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip; 1–1½ inches thick)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
- Fresh herbs or butter, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Remove steaks from the fridge 20 minutes before cooking to bring to room temperature.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Pat steaks dry with paper towels and rub with olive oil.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Place steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
- Check internal temperature:
- Rare: 120–125°F (49–52°C)
- Medium-rare: 130–135°F (54–57°C)
- Medium: 140–145°F (60–63°C)
- Rest steaks for 5 minutes before serving.
- Top with butter or herbs if desired.
Notes
Thicker steaks cook best in the air fryer.
Always rest steak to retain juices.
Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
Finish with garlic butter or chimichurri for extra flavor.
