Juicy, tender air fryer steak with a perfectly seared crust—restaurant-quality results made easy at home.

  • Total Time: 15
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  1. 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip; 1–1½ inches thick)
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. ½ tsp black pepper
  5. ½ tsp garlic powder
  6. ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  7. Fresh herbs or butter, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove steaks from the fridge 20 minutes before cooking to bring to room temperature.
  2. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  3. Pat steaks dry with paper towels and rub with olive oil.
  4. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  5. Place steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  6. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  7. Check internal temperature:
  8. Rare: 120–125°F (49–52°C)
  9. Medium-rare: 130–135°F (54–57°C)
  10. Medium: 140–145°F (60–63°C)
  11. Rest steaks for 5 minutes before serving.
  12. Top with butter or herbs if desired.

Notes

Thicker steaks cook best in the air fryer.

Always rest steak to retain juices.

Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.

Finish with garlic butter or chimichurri for extra flavor.
